New England HIDTA

Designated in 1999, the New England HIDTA provides funding resources, facilitates and enhances coordination of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies in designated areas, enabling them to combine and leverage resources and capabilities to carry out activities to address the specific drug threats of those areas.

Ongoing Initiatives

New England HIDTA sponsors two main types of ongoing initiatives. These initiatives include the Investigative Support Center (ISC) and several Law Enforcement Initiatives.

Training

The New England HIDTA Training Initiative provides professional, high quality, “tuition free” or at low cost, law enforcement training classes to our federal, state and local law enforcement and affiliated.

Special Projects

New England HIDTA sponsors several special project initiatives throughout the year. These projects help the organization to consistently achieve its mission and vision.

The Domestic Highway Enforcement Program at the New England HIDTA promotes collaborative intelligence-led policing to enhance coordinated multi-jurisdictional operational law enforcement efforts on the region’s highway system…

S.C.O.P.E. of Pain

Since 2013 New England HIDTA has held a collaborative partnership with the Boston University School of Medicine (BUSOM) to offer an accredited program, the Safe & Competent Opioid Prescribing Education (SCOPE) of Pain.

Internship Opportunities

New England HIDTA partners with colleges & universities in the New England area to find confident, driven, & capable students to work in our office.

The New England HIDTA Drug Threat Assessment has identified opioid abuse, primarily of heroin and controlled prescription opioids, as the most significant drug threat to the New England region.
