Field Training Officer (FTO)-3 Days

Our three (3) day Field Training Officer class is based on the industry standard San

Jose Model. This class will fit with C.A.L.E.A. accreditation standards, providing you

with the tools and knowledge to properly train a new officer. From ethics to

leadership, our FTO class covers the topics needed to both train and evaluate a field

trainee. The course offering includes:

• Field Training Program Goals & Objectives

• Expectations of / for FTO’s (Roles of the FTO)

• Ethics & Professionalism

• Leadership Skills

• Teaching and Training Skills/Adult learning Styles

• Intro to Competency Evaluations/DORs/DOR Videos

• Remediation

• Intervention Techniques/ Legal Issues/Liability

• Driver Safety/FTO Awareness or

• Practical Exercise Test/Side Evaluation

• Case Study Presentation
