About the event
This hands-on course is designed specifically for police detectives seeking to enhance their crime scene photography skills. Participants will learn beginner-to-advanced techniques for capturing high-quality, court-admissible images that accurately document evidence, scene conditions, and investigative details. Through a combination of classroom instruction and practical field exercises, detectives will gain expertise in: • Proper use of DSLR and mirrorless cameras for forensic photography • Managing lighting challenges, including low-light and nighttime scenes • Close-up and macro photography for capturing fine details such as fingerprints, tool marks, and blood spatter • Proper exposure, depth of field, and composition techniques • The use of alternate light sources for documenting biological evidence and trace materials • Photographing crime scenes systematically to create a comprehensive visual record.
