About the event

CLASS

This dynamic, one day class will be taught by John Ventura, who is an active police chief and prosecutor. It will focus on developing courtroom testimony skills in new officers, Field Training Officers (for new officer training) or officers in need of remedial training. Specific focus will be placed on DWI testimony. Officers who attend this class will have the opportunity to participate in practical courtroom exercises. Other areas of discussion will include:

  •  Proper Documentation & Report Writing
  •  Issue spotting
  •  Knowing the strengths/weaknesses of a case
  •  How to organize a case file and testimony
  •  How a defense attorney will break a case down
  •  Awareness of courtroom nuances
  •  Administrative hearing testimony
  •  Case studies
  •  And much, much more

ABOUT GSPCC

Granite State Police Career Counseling (GSPCC) provides progressive and comprehensive law enforcement training through collaborative learning. GSPCC's instructors are seasoned classroom professionals with law enforcement backgrounds who are formally educated in their respective teaching and training fields.

About the Instructor: John Ventura, Esq.

Is the Chief of Police for the town of Brentwood, NH. He began his career with Kingston, NH PD and transferred to Wakefield. Ventura served as the prosecuting attorney with the North Hampton, NH Police Dept for nearly 10 years.

Before moving to Brentwood, Ventura was the Wakefield Chief of Police. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from UNH and his J.D. from the Massachusetts School of Law. He is a practicing attorney with vast experience.
