Date & Time: Sep 22, 2025 02:00 PM EST to 03:00 PM EST In a world where there often are not enough programs and services to address the vast behavioral health needs of the communities we serve, communities have the ability to organize and create meaningful solutions to prevent and mitigate the effects of substance use, mental health problems, and trauma. However, many prevention specialists struggle to engage communities in authentic ways to build up local capacity. This training offers context and a foundational framework to support community prevention specialists in beginning their own journey towards community-led (rather than agency led) prevention.
Trainer: Christina A. Mancebo-Torres, MPH, is the Assistant Director and Co-Founder of Centro de Ayuda y Esperanza Latina, a community-based organization headquartered in New Bedford, Massachusetts that focuses on supporting Hispanic and Latino communities in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Florida, and the Dominican Republic.
About the webinar: This webinar is hosted by the New England PTTC, supported with supplemental funding from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Award No. 1H79SP084326-01. Participants will receive a certificate of completion for 1 contact hour. Register HERE!
