The New England HIDTA Prevention Initiative invites prevention professionals, school leaders, athletic directors, coaches, and community partners to join this free regional webinar focused on the powerful role athletics and trusted adult mentorship can play in youth substance use prevention.
This engaging session will introduce the evidence-informed Substance-Free Athletics® (SFA) and Protect Your Game® approach, which leverages youth sports as a platform to strengthen leadership, connection, healthy decision-making, and positive school and team culture among student-athletes.
Attendees will hear practical strategies, prevention insights, and real-world perspectives from coaches, prevention leaders, student-athletes, public safety professionals, and community leaders from across New England.
Topics will include:
Building positive and substance-free team culture
Strengthening trusted adult mentorship and connection
Leveraging athletics as a prevention and wellness strategy
Supporting healthy leadership and decision-making among student-athletes
