1 Day FTO In-Service Class

Designed for patrol officers and supervisors who are trained as Field Training Officers. This class satisfies the yearly in-service requirement National CALEA Accreditation Standards. The class is also designed for those non-accredited agencies looking to strengthen their FTO program based on best practices and yearly updated in-service training.

• Discuss teaching/coaching methods for new recruits.

• Identify methods to make documentation of written DORs more standard utilizing easy to follow formulas designed by JET.

• Discuss pitfalls to avoid in the FTO Program.

• Describe new and existing liability issues facing FTOs and the FTO Program.

• Define supervisory obligations and responsibilities under a "Duty to Intercede/Intervene."

• Introduce JET's new FTO Resource Manual, and all new "Task" book and 4 point DOR.

Officers who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate of completion
