Basic Death and Homicide Investigations

Cost : $750 for Basic

This three-day certification-level class will provide students with stepby-step instruction about the initial response to a major crime or death, scene preservation, and documentation intended to ensure a complete and legal investigation regardless of criminality or prosecution.

The student will gain proficiency in:

• Understanding the death process

• types of deaths

• indicators to guide the student within their investigations in concert with the Attorney General’s protocol

• evidence identification and collection

• witness identification

• interviewing

• the autopsy process.

Case studies will be presented to solidify the applications above, and class participation is required to demonstrate proficiency in these principles
