COURSE

The investigation of death is the most important responsibility a police agency can undertake. This 40-hour course will prepare the student to properly investigate all death cases. The focus will be on homicide investigation.

Who should attend: 

Students should be police officers, (uniform or detective), investigators and other authorized officials who are responsible for investigating the death of human beings.


ABOUT GSPCC

Granite State Police Career Counseling (GSPCC) provides progressive and comprehensive law enforcement training through collaborative learning. GSPCC's instructors are seasoned classroom professionals with law enforcement backgrounds who are formally educated in their respective teaching and training fields.


John Yerardi

He has more than 30 years of law enforcement experience. He began his police career with the Dover Police Department in New Hampshire in 1984 as a Patrol Officer and Field Training Officer and became certified as a police instructor in 1986. He transferred to the Portsmouth, NH Police Department. John worked in a variety of positions in the Bureaus of Patrol, Investigative and Administrative Services.


John spent many years in the Bureau of Investigative Services as a Detective, Sergeant, and Lieutenant where he was assigned to major cases and was a primary crime scene investigator. John was involved a multitude of death investigations during his career. He received more than a dozen commendations for his work. John has conducted classes, lectures, presentations and seminars on death and homicide investigations, criminal investigations, crime scene response, processing and investigation, background investigations, and a variety of other topics for officers and organizations.


John holds a Bachelor of Science degree with honors from the College of Criminal Justice at Northeastern University in Boston, MA.
