Detail Information
Instructor Development will provide line law enforcement officers and current instructors with a fundamental understanding of teaching adults, professional presentations, and class facilitation. Additionally, the three-day course will afford students the opportunity to develop teaching skills required to present any topic of instruction to law enforcement professionals within their agencies or departments. Specific focus will be placed on practical learning and application opportunities.
Topics will include:
Lesson Planning and Course Concepts
Presentation Styles & Communication Components
Adult Learning Styles • Classroom Set-up & Fundamentals
Do’s & Do Nots of Adult Learning
Teaching and Training Via Media Resources & Hybrid
Four Instruction Practical Exercises
Activities Worksheets provided through Student Workbook Download and Printing. Students must print workbooks and bring/provide laptops with presentation software

ABOUT GSPCC
Granite State Police Career Counseling (GSPCC) provides progressive and comprehensive law enforcement training through collaborative learning. GSPCC's instructors are seasoned classroom professionals with law enforcement backgrounds who are formally educated in their respective teaching and training fields.
About the Instructor:
Officer Phillip White, MS, MA (RET.) served for 26 years with the San Jose, CA Police Department. From 2017-2023, he was the department’s CA POST certified FTO Program Coordinator and course instructor. He possesses the CA POST AICC instruction certification and has thousands of hours of classroom and field teaching and training experience. He served as an FTO for four years and in various special assignments outside of the Patrol Division. He retired in January 2023 after 31 total years of law enforcement experience. He now resides in Portsmouth, NH.
Cost: $325 per student
